It is no big secret that Barcelona is one of the most remarkable European cities. Its rare combination of vibrant cultural life, renowned innovative cuisine, stunning architecture, and spectacular scenery make it one of the top tourist destinations in Europe. It is also a very active business place, and a fabulous option to live and work in. That much you probably know already. What you might not know, however, is that Barcelona is also the place where biketrials were invented, the capital of the country where Lance Armstrong and his team train when off-season...
There must be about a million web pages with information about our city, and there is no way we are going to pretend we know all its secrets (except of course when it comes to single track!). A good starting point, however, is www.barcelonaturisme.com, where you'll find plenty of information not only about accommodation and restaurants, but also about services, guided tours, general information, travel info, city tourist districts, weather forecasts, city maps… all in several languages, and very sensibly organized.
By the way, the picture above deserves an explanation. Our friend Roger takes these stunning images everyday at dawn, always from the same place (remember Harvey Keitel in Smoke?) He has been doing this for years! From his web page (www.barcelonaskyline.com) you can download his images for free (for non-commercial use) and even order high quality, large prints which make absolutely gorgeous souvenirs to take back home! |
